- Red amaranth(Chuvanna cheera) - 1 kg
- Onion(chopped) - 1/2 cup
- Rice - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - 1 stem
- Chilly powder - 2 tsp
- Coconut(grated) - 1/4 cup

- Pacha Cheera(Green Amaranth) also can be prepared in the same method -

- For preparing chuvanna cheera roast, first clean, wash the cheera and cut into small pieces.
- Add the cut cheera and stir the mix well. Allow to cook the mix in steam(please avoid using water directly to cook the mix).
- When the mix is cooked, add grated coconut, stir it for 2-3 minutes and take it out from the stove.
- Cheera roast is ready and can be served with chappathi, rice etc.
