  • 1 cup Split pigeon pea Tuvar dal
  • 3 tbsp Chana dal
  • 4 nos Red chillies
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 2 bunches Curry leves
  • Asafoetida A pinch, Kayam
  • 2 tsp Salt


  • For preparing curry leaves/karuveppala podi - brahmin special, first roast ingredients : 1 to 5 separately and grind.
  • Roast curry leaves and grind.
  • After grinding mix the ground items together.
  • Add required salt and asafoetida.
  • Curry leaves/karuveppala podi - brahmin special recipe, is ready. This karveppala podi can be added to rice with ghee or gingelly oil and served.
