Oats With Vegitable Soup

Oats, vegetables and other ingredients are cooked together in milk

  • 1/2 cup Oats
  • 1/2 cup Mixed vegetables of your choice boiled
  • 1/4 cup Mushrooms finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Spring onions finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Butter
  • 1 small Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 1 no Green chilly chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic paste
  • Pepper powder A pinch
  • 1 tsp Coriander leaves
  • Salt As reqd


  • For preparing oats with vegetable soup, melt the butter in a soup pot and add cinnamon, garlic paste, chopped spring onions, mushroom and green chilly. Saute till the raw smell goes.
  • Add the vegetables and salt. Fry for 2 minutes and keep aside.
  • Cook oats in 2 cups of water and add milk. Cook in low flame.
  • Stir in the previously prepared vegetable mix. Mix and simmer for few minutes.
  • Garnish is up to you. You can use fried bread pieces, fresh herbs, onion rings, pepper powder etc as garnish.
  • Oats with vegetable soup, a low calorie soup recipe is ready.
