Deep Fried Fish In Soy Sauce

  • 600 gm Fish Pomfret or garoupa is ideal, whole
  • 1 tbsp Corn flour
  • Salt As reqd
  • Pepper As reqd
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 1" piece Ginger julienned
  • 1 sprig Spring onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp Light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Chinese Wine
  • 1 tsp Fish sauce


  • Marinate fish with salt and pepper.
  • Sprinkle the cornflour on the fish and keep for 5 mins.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Fry the fish, till lightly brown on both sides.
  • Drain and remove.
  • Heat up the the remaining oil.
  • Add ginger and fry.
  • Add all the sauces and 3 tbsp of water.
  • Allow it to boil.
  • Pour the above over the fried fish.
  • Garnish with spring onion.
