- Elephant yam(Chena) - 1/4 kg
- Raw banana(Nendrakka) - 2 nos
- Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
- Pepper powder - 1 tsp
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Coconut(grated) - 1 1/2 cup
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tsp
- Coconut oil - 4 tbsp

Instructions
- For preparing elissery - brahmin special, cut and wash elephant yam and raw banana and cook and boil this in cooker by adding enough water, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, pepper powder and salt.
- Add the ground item to the 1st step item and boil for sometime.
- Fry mustard seeds and urad dal in coconut oil. Then add the remaining 1/2 cup grated coconut and fry this till the mixture turns brown.
- Add this 4th step item to the 3rd step mixture.
- Add curry leaves.
- Elissery - brahmin special recipe, is ready.
