Fish Aviyal Fish(Meen) Aviyal with Coconut 1/2 kg Fish2 tbsp Coriander6 nos Dry chillies (Kollamulaku)Turmeric powder (A pinch)5 nos Button onions (Kunjulli)3 nos Garlic pods1 cup Green mango slicesCurry leaves 1 tbsp Sliced onion1/2 tsp Sliced ginger3 nos Slit green chillies1/2 cup Ground coconut2 tbsp Coconut oilSalt (As reqd) Broil the coriander, chillies , turmeric, onions and garlic in a hot greased skillet. Grind the broiled ingredients to a fine paste. Mix together the paste, fish, mango pieces, curry leaves and salt along with two cups of water and cook on a moderate fire. When it starts to boil, add the onion, ginger and green chili mix, the ground coconut with 1/4 cup of water.Let the curry simmer and thicken. Finally, pour the oil onto the curry and gently shake the pan. Remove from fire. Kerala
Great dish. I had to make a couple modifications because missing mango and coconut oil, so removed the dry chilies and towards the end sprinkled some red chilly powder and fenugreek leaves. My husband really enjoyed. Thanks for sharing!
