To be ground for preparing masala:


  • Grind the grated coconut to a fine paste and keep aside.
  • Grind the ingredients of the masala together to a fine paste.
  • Add some water to the tamarind and extract the paste.
  • Take a pan and pour oil. Splutter the curry leaves and saute the ground masala paste till oil accumulates on top.
  • Pour the tamarind pulp, one cup of water and required salt. Heat the vessel.
  • When boiling starts, add fish and brinjal pieces.
  • When the fish is done, add coconut paste and simmer for a few minutes in low flame. Remove from fire before boiling starts.
  • Fish with brinjal curry is ready. Serve hot.
