1/2 kg Fish2 cups Brinjal (cut into pieces, Vazhuthananga)3/4 cup Coconut (grated)Tamarind (A small ball, Puli)Curry leaves (Few)Oil (As reqd)Salt (As reqd)To be ground for preparing masala:2 tsp Chilly powderTurmeric powder (A pinch)1/2 cup Shallots (Kunjulli)3/4 tsp PepperGinger (A small piece) Grind the grated coconut to a fine paste and keep aside.Grind the ingredients of the masala together to a fine paste.Add some water to the tamarind and extract the paste.Take a pan and pour oil. Splutter the curry leaves and saute the ground masala paste till oil accumulates on top.Pour the tamarind pulp, one cup of water and required salt. Heat the vessel.When boiling starts, add fish and brinjal pieces.When the fish is done, add coconut paste and simmer for a few minutes in low flame. Remove from fire before boiling starts.Fish with brinjal curry is ready. Serve hot. Kerala
