Goan Fish Vindaloo

Fish pieces cooked in ginger-garlic pastes, tomato puree, cumin powder and other ingredients

  • First clean the fish and drain well.
  • Marinate the fish with lemon and salt and fry lightly.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry onions to a golden brown color.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and sautT for a minute.
  • Stir in chilly powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, tomato puree, required salt and fry for a few seconds.
  • Add lightly fried fish pieces and vinegar. Mix well.
  • Pour little water and cook till you get a slightly thick gravy.
  • In a pan, Heat little oil and deep fry shallots. Finally pour it on the gravy.
  • Place the Goan fish vindaloo in a serving bowl and serve hot with plain rice.
