Green Peas Curry Kerala Style is a very tasty side dish made with dry green peas. You can describe it as a wholesome, healthy, nutritious and comfort dish to your tummy. It is a traditional and authentic favorite in Kerala Cuisine, cooked in coconut milk. Vegan and gluten free curry dish packed with flavors, is one of the awesome dishes that is a favorite with all. It is coconut milk that grants a delicious flavor and aroma to the curry. The creamy coconut flavored vegan side dish is unique and special making it a very favored one. Porotta with Green Peas Curry Kerala Style is a delicious combo, a favorite curry dish with all age groups. This tasty side dish can be served with appam, idiyappam, dosa and chappati. Dry green peas is soaked in sufficient water for around 6 – 7 hours until soft. Soaking is a must when using dried green peas.
You can also substitute fresh green peas if available and the good thing is that it requires no soaking and cooking. Steaming alone is enough if using fresh green peas. Flavor of coconut milk in curries tastes absolutely delicious and to be frank i am a big fan of creamy coconut flavored gravy. I have made the dish a bit spicy but you can make changes and reduce spiciness of the masala if required. Especially if kids are involved you can make the dish mild and creamy because kids like it that way. Kids are not tolerant nor do they adapt easily. You will be at the losing end when you want your kids to consume the protein rich green peas and at the same time they are putting up a fuss about the gravy. This is a rich and nutritious curry dish that can be easily cooked at home. You can explore a rich and nutritious curry dish that can be easily prepared at home.
