Hyderabadi Fish Hyderabadi fish 1 - Fish (cut into pieces, tuna or salmon)2 Bay leaves (Vazhana/Karuga ela)4 tbsp Oil4 nos Green chillies (split)1 cup Coconut milk1/2 tsp Sugar1 tsp Garam masalaSalt (As reqd)1 1/2 tsp Melted butter (optional)For the blended mixture:5 nos Red chillies (Kollamulaku)1 tsp Turmeric powder2 tsp Fennel seeds (Perinjeerakam)3 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam)3 cm Ginger3 tbsp Grated coconut1 lemon Tamarind (Puli) Heat oil in a pan.Add bay leaves, split green chilies and the blended mixture.Fry till the oil begins to separate. (This will take around 10-12 minutes)Add the fish pieces along with sugar and salt. Add little water and simmer it for a while. Just before taking it off the fire, add the coconut milk, garam masala and bring to a boil. :- If you want, you can add melted butter to enhance the taste. Andhra
not much mentioned about the cooking time for the fish.. Fish got over cooked this way. Best will be to marinate the fish with lil lemonjuice, chilli & turmeric & add it at the end after coconut milk is added.
