For pathilu:

  • 2 cups Moodari soaked and ground with salt and water


  • For preparing irachi pathilu, cook beef with chilly powder, green chilly, turmeric powder, salt and water.
  • In another vessel fry onions, with chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and curry leaves in coconut oil.
  • Add in the cooked beef and mix well.
  • Press a ball of ground moodari on a banana leaf.
  • Spread the beef masala on it.
  • In another banana leaf press pathilu as the same size of the 1st and place it above the masala.
  • Place masala on top of the second pathilu and repeat the process.
  • Steam cook the irachi pathilu along with the banana leaf.
  • Irachi pathilu is ready. Serve hot.
