- Oyster(washed, cleaned and drained, Kakka) - 125 g
- Shallots(crushed, Kunjulli) - 3 nos
- Green chillies(chopped round) - 1 no
- Ginger(a small piece, chopped) -
- garlic(crushed) - 2 nos
- Coconut(grated) - 1/2 cup
- Pepper corns(crushed) - 5 nos
- Chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves(Few) -
- Coconut oil(As reqd) -
- Salt(As reqd) -

- For preparing kakka ularthiyathu, first mix kakka with shallots, green chillies, ginger, garlic, curry leaves, some water and required salt in a vessel.
- Cook in low heat until water has almost dried up.
- Add grated coconut, crushed pepper, chilly powder and cover the vessel with a lid. Simmer in low heat until the kakka pieces are done.
- Sprinke garam masala and add fresh coconut oil. Remove the vessel from fire.
- Kakka ularthiyathu, a favorite dish of kerala, is ready. Serve hot.
