Kara vadai is a popular snack of Kanyakumari district and Trivandrum . A simple to make crispy evening snack. Its made with urial , raw rice and parboiled rice along with spices and herbs. Sometimes, we feel to bit something spice and crispy in the evening along with a hot tea / coffee. This would be so good when you serve hot. If the kara vadai cools down, then it will be little tough to consume. Also we need a dip like coconut chutney or green coconut chutney to consume this . Since it is made of all pulses it is a protein rich snack. The speciality of this Vada is it tastes so yummy with crispy crust outside and spongy and spicy stuff even without adding onions

Instructions
- In a bowl add Pattani paruppu and soak for 2-3 hours
- In a mixer add all spices, dry chili and grind coarsely
- Now add dal and grind Coarsely
- Now add all other items and mix well
- Now make small balls and Flat it slightly( refer picture)
- Now heat oil and deep fry both side in golden brown color
- Now Drain from oil and serve it . Kara vadai is ready
