Rather than having plain steamed rice, some more work and you get a fragrant and delicious rice that goes with any dal recipe. This pairs well with any spicy mutton or chicken curry or any vegetable curry. This ghee rice preparation is very simple and easy to make and every common preparation for special occasions like family gatherings or parties.   • Soak rice in water for 30 mins.
  • Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel.
  • After a few seconds, add onion and stir, till, it turns transparent.
  • Add cinnamon, cloves and cardamom and stir.
  • Add 2 cups of water.
  • :- For 1 cup of rice, add 2 cups of water.
  • Add enough salt and mix well.
  • Allow it to boil.
  • Add washed rice and let it boil.
  • Cover and cook on a low flame.
  • When there is no water, remove and keep the lid closed, until rice is cooked well.
  • :- Serve with parippu (dal) curry , chicken or mutton curry, pickle and curd.

    Try this and came out gud. We can add some friend onions on top to garnish and for flavour. Gud one.

    Very good recipe. Very simple. I added 1/2 a glass more water, because I like well cooked rice. Thanks for the recipe.

    Sounds nice and good. I would add the rice with the fried spices first before adding in the water.
