Kovakkai Poriyal

A very healthy and simple curry that goes well with rice, rotis etc. It is simple to prepare.

  • Clean, wash and cut the Kovakkai into small pieces
  • Heat Oil in a frying pan and add the chopped Onion into the Oil
  • Then add the Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder and Salt into the chopped Onion
  • Stir the mix for some time
  • Then add the Kovaikkai pieces into this mix and stir it for 2 – 3 minutes (not necessary to add water)
  • Cover the frying pan with a lid/plate and cook the mix in low flame
  • When the Kovakkai pieces are cooked well, stir it and then put off the stove and change the Poriyal to a serving vessel.
  • Kovakkai Poriyal is ready and it can served as a side dish for cooked rice, Chappathi/Poori etc.
