Malabari Chemmeen Curry

This is a special item i made by getting inspired by a malabari friend

  • Take the cleaned prawns in a bowl and keep it aside.
  • Then heat a pan and pour 1 tsp of oil and to that add coconut ,8 shallots , 1 garlic, perumjeerakam, cumin seeds and curry leaves 1 sprig.
  • Stir well until it becomes brawn, then off the flame and keep it to cool.
  • Heat a kadai and add oil to it, when its hot add yellow mustard .
  • When it change its color and it splutters add the sliced shallots, sliced garlic, ginger .
  • saute it well and when its brawn add green chilly.
  • Then add tomato
  • Saute it well.
  • Mean while take the coocnut mix in to a blender.
  • pour some water to it
  • Grind it well.
  • Then add red chilly flakes, turmeric powder and coriander powder to the kadai.
  • Mix it well
  • stir for 2 minutes and then add the prawns to it
  • Mix it well.
  • Add 1 cup of water to it.Then close the kadai for 2 to 3 minutes .
  • Then add curry leaves and salt to it.
  • Wait for 5 minutes and when the prawns get cooked.
  • Add the grinded mixture to it
  • Mix it well and close the pan and keep in low flame.
  • Wait for 10 minutes and then off the flame.
  • Our dish is ready , serve hot.
