  • 200 g Beef minced
  • 2 cups Spinach chopped, Cheera
  • 1 cup Shallots sliced, Kunjulli
  • 1 1/4 cup Coconut grated
  • 7 nos Green chillies slit lengthwise
  • 7 nos Pepper corns ground
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 7 nos Cloves crushed, Grambu
  • 1/4 tsp Cummin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1 dsp Garlic crushed
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 dsp Vinegar
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd


  • Extract coconut milk by adding 1 1/2 cup water to the grated coconut. Keep this aside.
  • Take a frying pan and pour oil.
  • Heat the oil and fry cinnamon, cloves, ground pepper and cummin seeds.
  • Lower the heat and add crushed garlic. Keep stirring for some time.
  • Add turmeric powder and chilly powder. Fry on low heat.
  • Add the minced beef and required salt. Saute for sometime till water comes out.
  • Now, close the pan with a lid and cook for sometime till the water dries up completely.
  • Remove the lid and add chopped spinach. Saute for sometime.
  • Add the extracted coconut milk and place back the lid.
  • Cook on low flame until the gravy has thickened and the beef is cooked.
  • Add vinegar and mix.
  • Minced beef with spinach is ready and serve hot.
