this is a simple and easy recipe . this breakfast can be done with in 20 mins if rice was soaked. this i very famous in karnataka

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 cup Butter milk
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Channa dal
  • 1/2 tsp Urad dal
  • Curry leaves little
  • 3 Dry chiili
  • Salt as taste


  • Soak rice for 2 hours or over night and Grind well and keep aside
  • Now add Butter milk and mix well
  • In pan add oil and temper with mustard and urad dal and channa dal
  • Now add Curry leaves and dry chili
  • Now add Rice buttermilk batter with salt and stir continuously
  • if you stir continuously (ref pic) it comes like this
  • Next stage
  • Now close lid and cook for 5 minutes
  • In a plate grease oil and transfer the morkali
  • After 10 mins shape with knife and serve it
  • Now its ready to serve Morkali
