Pearl spot fish marinated in a mixture of lemon juice, red chillies, other ingredients and later deep fried

  • 4 nos Pearl Spot/Karimeen washed and drained
  • 3/4 tbsp Lime juice
  • Oil As reqd

For preparing marinade:


  • For preparing pearl spot/karimeen fry, first make slits on the drained karimeen pieces and smear lime juice over the fishes.
  • Meanwhile grind together shallots, pepper corns, garlic, dry red chillies and required salt to a smooth paste.
  • Apply the marinade on the karimeen and keep aside for 1 hour.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry the karimeen on both sides till golden brown in color.
  • Pearl spot/karimeen fry, a tasty and nutritious recipe, is ready. Serve hot with onion rings.
