Prawn With Mushroom Soup

Prawn/Jhinga soup is prepared by cooking prawns in chicken soup stock, mushrooms and other ingredients

  • 250 g Mushrooms cut in to halves
  • 1 no Spring onion cut into 2 inch long pieces
  • 8 nos Prawns deveined and washed
  • 1/2 cup Chicken soup stock
  • 1 ½ Lemon juice
  • Pepper powder A pinch
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Fish sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli paste
  • 1/4 of Lime for seasoning
  • Lemon grass Few
  • 2 tbsp Celery chopped
  • Salt As reqd


  • First heat pan and boil chicken soup stock.
  • Add lemon juice, fish sauce and chilli paste, lemon grass to chicken stock, and stir.
  • Stir in mushrooms, spring onions, prawns and simmer for 10-12 minutes until prawns are done.
  • Add celery, salt and pepper.
  • Prawn with mushroom soup is ready. Season with lime juice and pepper powder. Serve hot.
