Ingredients
- Red gram/Vanpayar(soaked and boiled) - 3 cups
- Dried prawns(cleaned and roasted in 1 tsp oil) - 1 cup
- Onion(chopped) - 3 nos
- Ginger(chopped) - 1 tsp
- garlic(chopped) - 5 cloves
- Dry red chillies(cut in half) - 4 nos
- Curry leaves(Few) -
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chilly powder - 2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala - 2 tsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- For preparing red gram/vanpayar with dried chemeen, first heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add curry leaves and dry red chillies.
- Then add turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilly powder, garam masala and saute till the raw smell goes off.
- Add the boiled vanpayar and sautT well.
- At this point, add dried chemeen and 4 tbsp water.
- Cover it with a lid and cook for some time.
- Red gram/Vanpayar with dried chemeen, a tasty side dish recipe is ready.
