Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Long grain rice washed and soaked in water for 30 minutes
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Chilly powder A pinch
  • 1 no Bay leaf Karuva ela
  • 5 cups Water
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing turmeric rice, cook the rice in boiling salted water with the spices and bay leaf, until it becomes tender, for about 15 minutes.
  • Dry the rice, uncovered in a moderate oven, gas mark 3 until the grains are separate and fluffy.
  • Turmeric rice is ready. Serve hot.
