Vargu Kanji ( Kodo Millets Porridge)

This is healthy and good for diet plan. this gives enough energy for a day and this porridge is good to toodlers too.

  • Kodo Millets - 1 cup, varagu
  • Moong dal - 2 tsp, Pasi paruppu
  • 4 flakes Garlic
  • 1/4 tsp Jeera
  • 2 Pepper bell
  • 1/2 string Curry Leaves
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 1/2 cup Water


  • wash and soak rice and dal
  • Now in pressure pan, add rice and dal and all other items except milk
  • Now close lid and pressure cook for 2 - 3 whistles and wait till whistles release
  • Now again turn on and add milk and stir well. cook for 1 minute and turn off
  • Now its ready to serve Kodo Millets Porridge (varagu kanji)
