Venpongal Breakfast made with rice and moong dhal 1 cup Rice1/4 cup Green gram (Cheruparippu)2 tbsp MilkTurmeric powder (a pinch)Salt (As reqd)2 nos Green chillies (finely chopped)1/4" piece Ginger (finely chopped)1/4 tsp Black pepper1/4 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam)1/4 tsp Mustard seeds1/4 tsp Black gram (Uzhunnuparippu)Curry leavesAsafoetida (a pinch, Kayam)2 tsp Ghee1 tsp Oil Cook green gram/moong dhal and rice by adding 3 cups of water and required amount of milk in a pressure cooker.Add salt and turmeric powder to it and cook.Heat ghee and oil in a pan.Fry all the other ingredients and mix it well with the rice and moong dhal.:- Serve hot with sambar and chutney. When making pongal, always stick to black pepper. Its the healthy and right way.
Your receipe is for venpongal(meaning white pongal)…doesnt adding turmeric make it yellow
