Avil Upma (Beaten Rice Or Powa) Tasty Avil(Powa) Upma 500 gm Avil (Powa/Beaten Rice)3 nos Potato (boiled, medium)2 nos Onions (finely chopped, big)8 - Garlic pods (chopped into long slices)5 nos Green chillies (slit)1 tsp Mustard seeds1 tsp Turmeric powder1/2 tsp Chilly powderSalt (As reqd)2 tbsp OilCoriander leaves(chopped) Boil potatoes in cooker with salt and little turmeric powder and cut them into medium sized cubes.Take avil in a strainer and wash with cold water 2 times. Keep aside for water to drip.Heat oil in a pan or kadai.Splutter the mustard seeds. Add the chopped garlic and saute till it turns light brown.Add green chillies, turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt and stir.Add the onions and fry for sometime till it becomes golden brown.Add the cut potatoes and fry for few minutes till all the ingredients get mixed well.Add the washed powa(avil) and mix well.Sprinkle a little water and close with a lid. Cook on low flame for about 4 - 5 mins stirring in between.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.:- Serve hot. North Indian
