  • 500 g Colocasia Chembu
  • 250 g Brinjal
  • 250 g Potatoes
  • 1 cup Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 cup Onions chopped
  • 2 cups Drumstick pieces 2" pieces
  • 5 nos Green chillies Split length wise
  • 2 tbsp Red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Ginger pieces finely chopped
  • 10 nos Garlic bulbs slightly crushed
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander seed powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin seed powder Jeerakam
  • 250 ml Refined Oil
  • Salt As reqd


  • Boil the colocasia tubers and the potatoes and remove the husk. Cut potatoes into two inch pieces. Leave the smaller colocasia uncut but cut the larger ones into two each.
  • Cut the brinjals into medium sized pieces and leave them in water.
  • Take a deep bottomed pan, add oil and heat. Splutter mustard seeds, add onion pieces and fry until brown in color.
  • Add tomato pieces, green chillies, ginger and mashed garlic pieces, turmeric powder and fry until tomato pieces become smooth.
  • Now add the potato, colocasia, brinjal and drumstick pieces. Stir and add red chilly powder, coriander and cumin seed powders. Mix well and fry until the raw smell is gone.
  • Add water, place a lid on the pan and allow the contents to simmer in medium flame until the vegetables are well cooked.
  • Serve hot with rice.
