  • 3 nos Onion finely chopped, large
  • 1 cup Cabbage finely chopped
  • 1 cup Carrot finely chopped
  • 3 nos Potatoes boiled and mashed
  • 3 tbsp Cream cheese Grated paneer can be used as a low fat substitute
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves
  • 4 nos Green chillies
  • Pepper As reqd
  • Salt As reqd
  • Egg whites
  • Bread crumbs for coating
  • Oil for deep frying


  • Mix the mashed potatoes, cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Imp:- The potatoes must be mashed thoroughly, otherwise the cutlet might break. Also, the potatoes must be drained well before mashing.
  • Add onion, cabbage and carrot along with green chillies and coriander leaves. Mix it very well.
  • Mould it into cylindrical shapes*, dip in eggwhite, coat in bread crumbs and deep fry.
  • While deep frying, make sure that the cutlets are fully immersed in oil.
  • *Shaped like diwan pillows. This shape allows cooking in lesser amount of oil and chances for breaking are less.
