For the masala:


  • Grind the masalas(chilly powder, turmeric, pepper, ginger and garlic) and make it into a paste.
  • Mix salt into this paste and apply a small portion of this paste onto the fish pieces. Allow it to marinate.
  • Heat the coconut oil and half fry the fish on both sides and keep it aside.
  • In the remaining oil, fry the onions, green chillies, curry leaves to a golden color.
  • Add the remaining masala and saute on medium flame until the raw smell of masala disappears.
  • Now add the tomatoes and cook until pulpy.
  • Now add the fried fish into the masala and lightly saute. 8)Now add the coconut milk and cook covered for 2 minutes.
  • Lastly add some butter and serve hot with Battura or chappathi or even with hot rice.
