Fresh water Meen Curry

Ingredients
- Fresh water small fish - 1 lbs
- Onion(sliced thin & long & cut into halves) - 1/4 of
- Shallot(cut into small pieces, Kunjulli) - 1 no
- Ginger(cut into thin slices) - 0.5" piece
- Green chillies(cut into half (long)) - 2 nos
- Tomato(sliced thin, long and cut into halves, medium) - 1 no
- Coconut milk - 4.5 oz
- Tomato puree - 3 tsp
- Mango powder - 1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek powder(A pinch, Uluva) -
- Fish masala(see method for details) - 3 tsp
- Curry leaves (optional) -
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp

Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds and when they crackle, add onions and stir for a while.
- Add green chillies, ginger and shallot pieces and curry leaves. Stir for a few minutes.
- Add tomato and fry them.
- Add tomato puree and stir well.
- Add salt, fenugreek powder, mango powder and fish masala. Stir well.
- When it boils, add the fish pieces. Stir slowly.
- Cover it and cook on low-medium heat.
- Stir once a while (careful not to break the fish pieces) until it is cooked.
- ***Note : Fish Masala *If you don`t have Kerala fish masala, then add 1.5 spoon [fine] coriander powder, 1 spoon chilli powder, 1/5 turmeric powder, one pinch more of fenugreek powder.
