Ingredients
- Bitter gourd / karela : 200 gm -
- Turmeric powder : ½ tsp -
- Dry coconut grated : ½ no -
- Red chilli powder : 1 tsp -
- Cumin powder : 1 tsp -
- Cloves : 4 nos -
- Oil – 3 - 4 tsp
- Salt : as reqd -

Instructions
- Cut the bitter gourd into thin round slices.
- Apply salt & turmeric powder and keep aside for 15 - 20 minutes.
- Squeeze the bitter gourd to extract the bitter juices.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the bitter gourd.
- Fry well, stirring occasionally, until the bitter gourd crisp.
- Grind the grated dry coconut, cloves, cumin powder and red chilli powder to a fine powder.
- Add this powder to the fried bitter gourd.
- Stir & cook for 2 minutes.
- Serve hot with chappathis or as a side dish with dal & rice.
