- Vegetables(You can use any vegetables chopped into small pieces. Include a tomato too. ) - 2 Cups
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 Tsp
- Red chilly powder - 3/4 Tsp
- Sambar powder - 1 1/2 Tsp
- Coconut(Grated) - 2 Tbsp
- Salt(As required) -
- Oil - 2 Tbsp
- Mustard - 1/2 Tsp
- Cumin seed - 1/4 Tsp
- Fennel seed - 1/4 Tsp
- garlic(Chopped) - 1 Tsp
- Shallots(Chopped) - 3 Nos
- Curry leaves(Few) -

- Pressure cook all the veggies with turmeric powder, red chilly powder, sambar powder and salt for one whistle.
- Add grated coconut and combine well. Cook for another few minutes.
- In the mean time, heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds and add all the ingredients that comes under tempering. Saute till the shallots turn light brown in colour.
- Pour this in to the sambar mixture.
- Sambar is ready now.
