Kallumakkaya Roast | Mussels Roast With Video


Kallumakkaya Roast is a delectable seafood delicacy that exhibits the natural flavors of mussels. The preparatory process is quite popular that involves frying the mussels and roasting the mussels to perfection along with spicy flavorings. This is a delightful delicacy for seafood lovers. Make sure that the mussels are alive by tapping lightly. If the shells close, it is an indication that the mussels are alive and are safe for consumption.   • Clean mussels/kallumakkai and marinate it in a mixture of chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt. Keep for a few minutes aside.
  • Heat oil in a vessel and deep fry the mussels. Drain and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and saute onion until it is golden brown in colour.
  • Add tomato, green chilly, ginger-garlic paste, curry leaves, coriander leaves and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Add fried mussels, garam masala powder, required salt and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Mussels Roast is ready to serve.
