Cuisine Kerala Prep Time 30 minutes Servings people MetricUS Imperial Ingredients Chicken - 1 kg Onions - 300 gm Ginger - 3/4" piece Green chillies - 3 - Coconut milk - 1/2 cup Curry leaves - 2 stem Cashews - 10 nos Chilly powder - 2 1/2 tsp Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp Masala powder - 1/2 tsp Oil - 1/2 cup Salt(As reqd) - Coriander leaves (for garnishing) - Cuisine Kerala Prep Time 30 minutes Servings people MetricUS Imperial Ingredients Chicken - 1 kg Onions - 300 gm Ginger - 3/4" piece Green chillies - 3 - Coconut milk - 1/2 cup Curry leaves - 2 stem Cashews - 10 nos Chilly powder - 2 1/2 tsp Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp Masala powder - 1/2 tsp Oil - 1/2 cup Salt(As reqd) - Coriander leaves (for garnishing) - Votes: 17 Rating: 4 You: Rate this recipe! Instructions Cut chicken into medium pieces. Marinate chicken pieces with 1 tsp of chilly powder, a pinch of turmeric powder and salt for 30 mins. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the marinated chicken, till it turns golden brown. Remove the chicken from the oil. Heat up the remaining oil in the same pan. Add onion, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves and fry, till golden brown. Add the remaining chilly powder , turmeric powder, coriander powder, masala powder and heat for a while. Put the fried chicken pieces into the pan along with coconut milk and mix well. Add salt to taste. Cook for few minutes, until the coconut milk is absorbed. Garnish with coriander leaves. :- Serve hot. The only change i made to this dish is that along with the mentioned ingredients i marinated the chicken pieces with some coriander powder, ginger garlic paste and garam masala powder before frying it.
