Lemon Rice Restaurant Style

  • Raw Rice (Pachari) : 2 cup
  • Lemon Juice : juice of one big lemon (Cheru Naranga)
  • Chopped Ginger : 2 tsp
  • 3 nos Green Chilli : 2 cut into small pieces
  • 10 leaves Curry Leaves : 8
  • Turmeric Powder : 2 tsp
  • Thuvara parippu : 2 tsp
  • Kappalandi (Peanuts) : 3 tsp
  • Salt : to taste
  • Sesame / Refined Oil : as reqd


  • Cook the rice (avoid pressure cooker to cook the rice) and remove the water from it and keep it separately to cool for about 10 -15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan.
  • Add thuvara parippu, uzhunnu parippu (if necessary), peanuts and stir the mix well.
  • Add curry leaves also into this mix and stir it further for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder and lemon juice into this mix.
  • Then add the cooked rice.
  • Stir the mix for about 2 - 3 minutes and put off the stove and change the lemon rice into a serving bowl / vessel.

  • Lemon Rice is ready and it will be very delicious to eat with coconut chutney.
