  • Toor dal - 1 cup
  • Methi leaves - 1/2 cup
  • Tomato - 2
  • Shallots - 15 chopped
  • Green chili - 2
  • Red chili - 2
  • Garlic pods - 6
  • Curry leaves - 1 string
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Channa and urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Asafeotida - 1/2 tsp
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek - 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt(as per taste) -

Instructions
  1. In pressure pan add toor dal and tomato and green chili and garlic and turmeric 1 1/2 cup water boil well

  2. Now clean and chop methi leaves

  3. Now add both together and cook for 10 minutes.

  4. Now in pan add oil and temper mustard, fenugreek, jeera, urad and channa dal

  5. Now add shallots, curry leaves and red chili and saute for minute

  6. Now transfer to cooked dal mixture and add salt, mix well

  7. Now allow to cool for ten minutes and mash with masher
