Mutton Chops

This is my family authentic recipe. this is very good in taste. The mutton is so soft cooked with spicy gravy

  • 1/2 kg Mutton
  • 1/2 cup Shallots
  • 1 Tomato
  • Curry leaves little
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 3 tblsp Curry masala we use homemade) or red chili + coriander powde
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel seed
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 2 tblsp Coconut
  • 1 tblsp Poppy Seed
  • 2 tblsp Oil
  • Salt as taste
  • If needed add chopped coconut cube at the last stage of gravy


  • In a pan add oil and temper jeera and pepper
  • Now add curry leaves and shallots. saute well
  • Now add fennel seed and tomato. saute well
  • Now add curry masala and mix well
  • Now add coconut and poppy seeds.mix well and turn off. allow to cool and grind it as a paste
  • Now boil mutton with 1/2 cup water,turmeric,oil and salt. cook well
  • Now Transfer to pan and add grinded masala and mix well. cook for 10 minutes. if needed add little water and add chopped coconut.when gravy becomes thick turn off.
  • Now its ready to serve Mutton Chop
