  • 2 cups Boiled rice
  • 3/4 cup Chana dal Kadala parippu
  • Urud dal(Uzhunu parippu black variety) - 1/4 cup, Uzhunu parippu
  • 1/2 cup Toovar dal Thuvara parippu
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • 6 nos Red chillies
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida Kayam
  • 4 tsp Salt
  • Gingelly oil As reqd


  • For preparing parippu ada, soak ingredients: boiled rice, channa dal, urad dal and toovar dal in water for 3 hours.
  • Grind this mixture with green chillies, red chillies, asafoetida, salt and curry leaves. This should be a semi thick solid.
  • Pour the batter in non-stick pan in round shape with a ladle and pour gingelly oil around it.
  • Turn both sides and cook.
  • Parippu ada is ready.
