1 cup Long grain rice (soaked in water for 30 minutes)1/2 cup Split chickpeas (soaked in water for 30 minutes, Kadala Parippu)100 g DatesAsafoetida (A pinch)3 cups Water3 tbsp GheeSalt (As reqd) For preparing shahi chana dal rice, heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan. Add asafoetida, split chickpeas and water and cook the split chickpeas partially.When the split chickpeas is half cooked, add rice, salt and cook till done on a low flame.Reduce flame and add the remaining ghee and dates.Cook till the dates soften a little.Shahi chana dal rice is ready.
