  • 400 g Boneless beef minced
  • 100 g Fresh bacon minced
  • 30 g Gruyere cheese grated
  • 1k g Potato peeled and chopped
  • 2 nos Onions finely chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic finely chopped
  • Pepper powder As reqd
  • Nut meg As reqd
  • 3 springs Parsley finely chopped
  • 100 g Butter
  • 100 ml Milk
  • Salt As reqd


  • For preparing shepherd`s pie with bacon, cook the potatoes in salt water. Drain it and keep it aside.
  • Fry onions, garlic and parsley in 15 grams of butter.
  • Add in the minced bacon and allow it to cook for 4 minutes on low flame.
  • Then add in minced beef, pepper powder, salt, parsley and the cooked potatoes. Mix well.
  • Preheat the oven at 220 degrees celsius.
  • Make a puree by blending milk, salt, pepper powder, 70 grams of butter and nut meg.
  • Spread a layer of this puree at the bottom of a pie dish. Then alternate layers of the filling and puree. Save enough puree for the top layer.
  • Sprinkle gruyere cheese and remaining knobs of butter over it.
  • Bake it in the oven for 20 minutes.
  • Shepherd`s pie with bacon is ready.
