For parathas :

  • Wheat flour : 1 cup
  • Salt : a pinch
  • Oil : 1 tsp ( for kneading the dough & for cooking the parathas )
  • For Stuffing :
  • Potatoes : 3 no.s
  • Green chillies : 2 nos
  • Salt : as reqd
  • Coriander leaves : handful (finely chopped)
  • Onion : 1 nos, finely chopped(optional)
  • Garam masala : 1/4 tsp


  • Take 1 cup of flour , add salt, oil, water and knead into a soft dough.
  • Prepare the dough as for roti. Keep it aside. Divide into 6 equal sized ball.
  • Pressure cook the potatoes till soft. peel the skin and mash it well.
  • Then add chillies, garam masala, salt, coriander leaves, stuffing is ready.
  • Make 6 equal sized balls out of the stuffing. Roll out the stuff into small round shape and keep the stuffing on Parathas.
  • Seal the dough with stuffing inside. Roll it into round shapes carefully.
  • Heat the tawa and place the rolled out dough.
  • When small bubbles form, apply 2 tsp oil on the top and flip it over to the other side.
  • Cook both sides well.
  • Remove from tawa after both sides are cooked well.
