Instructions
  1. Heat about 4 cups of water in a wok/kadai.
  2. Add the chilly powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder.
  3. Let this sauce boil until it is reduced to half the quantity.
  4. (Note : soak the kokum in warm for about 15 mins and make a paste. If you do not have kokum you can substitute it with Tamarind(Puli) pulp taken out of 1 big lemon sized ball of tamarind) Add the kokum/tamarind pulp to the sauce and let it boil until the kokum paste is well cooked and the raw smell disappears.
  5. Add the prawns and salt to taste.
  6. When the prawns curl up and is done, add the coconut milk and simmer for about 5 mins and then switch off the stove.
  7. :- Serve with plain rice and papad.
  8. :- This is a healthy dish since there is no oil used.

Came out excellent. I guess nandita doesnt know to follow instructions or does not like trying different cuisines. This is an authentic goan recipe and is a must try for everyone.
