Batter mix:


  • For preparing spinach cutlets, heat 2 tsp oil in a pan.
  • Add onion, ginger and garlic. Fry till it becomes light brown. Then add the spinach and stir. Add salt to taste. Cover and cook.
  • Once the spinach is cooked thoroughly, remove it from the flame and let it cool.
  • Take a bowl and smash the potatoes. Then add the cooled spinach, garam masala and bread crumbs. Mix well.
  • Make medium sized balls or patties out of this mixture.
  • Make a thick batter by adding maida, pepper powder, salt asafoetida, egg and a little water. Mix well to avoid lumps.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Once it is hot, dip the spinach balls in the batter and deep fry in hot oil.
  • Spinach cutlets is ready. Serve this healthy recipe hot.
  • Tip: 1)Always put less salt in spinach based food items. Spinach itself has salt. Once cooked, its salt will come out. Then the dish will be too salty.
