Ingredients
- Chicken - 1 kg
- Small onions(Kunjulli) - 1 cup
- Onion(big) - 1 no
- Tomato - 2 nos
- Green chillies - 4 nos
- Grated cocount - 1 tbsp
- Ginger(garlic paste - 1 tsp) -
- Cinnamon(Karugapatta) - 2 nos
- Cloves(Grambu) - 4 nos
- Cardamom(Elakka) - 2 nos
- Aniseeds(Perinjeerakam) - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tsp
- Poppy seeds(Khashakhasha) - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
- Peppercorns - 5 nos
- Coriander leaves(A few) -
- Curry leaves(A few) -
- Oil(As reqd) -
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- Clean chicken and cut into small pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add green chillies(cut into two halves) and saute for few mins. Keep it aside.
- In the same pan, add small onions and saute for few mins.
- Add cinnamom, cloves, cardamom, aniseeds, cumin seeds, poppy seeds and pepper corns one by one and fry them for few mins.
- Add turmeric and coriander powder and saute.
- Finally, add coconut and a few coriander leaves.
- Switch off the flame.
- Allow it to cool.
- Grind it along with green chillies into a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add curry leaves.
- Add tomato and saute till it blends well.
- Add masala paste and saute for 10 minutes.
- Add chicken pieces.
- Cover and cook on low flame till chicken cooks.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
