Thalapakkatti Chicken Biriyani is a very famous biriyani around worldwide. This biriyani has it own unique style of preparation with a nice aroma. This biriyani can be prepared with chcken, mutton and even with egg. But this chicken biriyani is popular among the other varieties.

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • Seeraga sambha rice ¾ kg
  • 100 gm Garlic crushed
  • 100 gm Onion crushed
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 cup Curd
  • 1 hand Mint and coriander leaves
  • Salt as per taste
  • ¼ cup Oil and ghee

For grinding:


  • In mixer jar add grind dry items crush well
  • Now add green chili and ginger and make fine paste
  • In pan add oil and ghee sauté garlic and add onion too
  • Now add grind paste sauté well
  • Now add salt and chicken saute well and cook till chicken cooks
  • Now add curd and cook till oil comes out
  • Now according gravy consistency add water along with gravy measure (1:2)
  • When water boil and rice and mix well and cook 15 mins low flame
  • Thalapakkatti Chicken Biriyani is ready to serve with egg and salna
