  • 500 g Rice flour
  • Water as required
  • Salt as required


  • Mix rice flour with salt and water to make a dough
  • Make a big ball of the rice dough,place it on a banana leaf.Now gently press it to make a round shape,the pathiri is 1 inch thick and 4 inch diameter.
  • Place another banana leaf on top of the pathiri.
  • Heat a mud pan and place it on along with the banana leaf.as the banana leaf starts to brown turn it over cook on the other side.do it frequently.
  • When both sides are cooked place the pathiri directly on the pan let it become crisp on both sides.Hold the pathiri upright with 2 wooden spatulas turn it like a tyre to cook the sides.
  • Serve it hot with kerala style Naadan Chicken curry.
