Vazhakkai Kola is a simple recipe which we can easily do with fresh vazhakkai. This Vazhakkai Kola, can also be called as Raw Banana Kofta. This Raw Banana Kofta is a delicious and crispy snack. This is the best combo for sambhar sadham, Rasam, Curd rice and bisibelabath. We make this kola with fried gram dal powder and add some onion, green chili, fresh coriander and spices powder like red chili, coriander powder garam masala. For this Vazhakkai Kola, we need to add coconut. This Raw Banana Kofta is a traditional recipe in Chettinad. This kola, is served along with their meals. We can do this kola in two types. One version of preparation is to steam the raw banana and grind with that masala. Another version is to steam, grate the raw banana and mix with that masala. Now we can see the detailed recipe here

- Vazhakkai / Raw banana - 2 no
- Fried gram dal - 1/2 cup
- Coconut - 1/4 cup
- Onion - 1 no
- Green chili - 2 no
- Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
- Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
- Salt(as per taste can adjust) - 1 tsp
- Oil(for deep fry) - 1 cup

Instructions
- Steam the vazhakkai or raw banana and keep aside
- Now peel the skin and cut into small pieces and keep aside
- Now grind fine powder of fried gram
- In mixer jar add onions and other items like green chili, spices powder, corainder leaves
- Now tranfer to one bowl or plate and add fried gram dal powder
- Mix both well and apply oil one tsp and mix well
- Now rest for 2 mins and srat making balls
- Now all kola balls are ready to fry in oil
- Heat oil and deep fry the kola balls and cook till golder brown colour comes and drain out
- Now Vazhakkai Kola ready to serve with ketchup
