Ingredients
- Raw Rice - 100 gms
- Moong dhal - 50 gms
- Chilli - 2
- Curry leaves(as needed) -
- Coriander(as needed) -
- Ginger - 1 inch
- Pepper - 1 ts
- Jeera - 1 ts
- Turmeric powder - ½ ts
- Salt(as needed) -
- Ghee(as needed) -
- Asafoetida(pinch) -

Instructions
- Chop coriander, chilli, curry leaves and ginger
- Heat ghee in a kadai, fry black pepper and jeera
- Add the cashew, chilli, coriander, ginger and curry leaves and fry for 3 minutes
- Add this to the rice and cook till the rice looses its shape
- Add turmeric powder, Asafoetida and salt
- Serve hot with coconut chatni or sambar
