- Ladies finger(cut into 1 inch long pieces, Vendakka) - 10 nos
- Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
- Shallots(Cheriyulli) - 10 nos
- Coriander seeds(or powder) - 2 tbsp
- Red chilly(or powder) - 3 or
- Fenugreek seeds(Vendhayam/Uluva) - 1/4 tsp
- Tamarind(A small lemon size ball soaked in 1 cup water, Puli) -
- Oil(As reqd) -
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- For preparing Vendakka Puli (Palakkadan Style), first saute coriander and red chilly in 1 tbsp oil.
- Add fenugreek and saute till it turns golden brown.
- Grind this with coconut and shallots.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan.
- Saute ladies finger.
- Once it cooks, add the ground masala and boil.
- Garnish with spluttered mustard, finely chopped shallots, red chilly and curry leaves.
- :- Vendakka puli tastes better the next day.
