Bachelor Masala Ghee Rice

  • 4 cups Basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup Ghee
  • 3 nos Onions
  • 3 tsp Masala powder
  • Cinnamon A small stick, Karugapatta
  • 4 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • Cumin seeds A pinch, Jeerakam
  • 1 tsp Whole peppers Kurumulaku
  • 2 tsp Salt


  • Heat half cup of ghee in a pan.
  • Add chopped onions and stir, till red.
  • Add masala powder, cinnamon, cardamom, cumin seeds and few whole peppers and stir well.
  • Add basmati rice to this and stir well, till the rice changes colour.
  • Add water(1 cup rice : 1.5 cups of water), salt and cook, till rice is done and water is dried up.
