Ingredients
- Rice : 1 cup -
- Toovar dal : ½ cup -
- Grated coconut : ½ no -
- Dry red chilies : 8 - 10 nos
- Ball tamarind : 1 no -
- Cabbage finely chopped : 1 cup -
- Spring onion bulb and stem chopped : 1 no -
- Onions chopped : 2 nos -
- Salt : as reqd -

Instructions
- Soak the rice and dal overnight.
- Grind the coconut, whole red chillies, tamarind and salt to a fine paste.
- Add the soaked rice and toovar dal to the coconut paste and grind together.
- Mix the chopped cabbage, spring onions and onions together in a vessel.
- Add the ground masala paste to the vegetables and mix well.
- Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle and spread the batter evenly and cover with a lid.
- Cook on a low flame for 3-4 minutes till the bottom turns brown.
- Turn and cook on the flip side.
